Packing for an (Esthetician) Trade Show
If you’re anything like me, you don’t love packing. What am I going to want to wear, I need to look cute but also be comfortable, what if I want options or change my mind? These are all things bouncing around in my head while packing. So, let me give you a few tips and non-negotiables to pack for IECSC Las Vegas, or really, any other trade show,
Tips:
Start shopping and packing EARLY! No one wants to be waiting for an Amazon package the day before you leave. If you start thinking about what you want to bring now, you’ll have plenty of time to order options.
Bring your favorites. We all have a favorite _____, you fill in the blank. Could be pajamas, dress, headband, whatever, but you know you’re going to want to have it. Make sure it is clean and ready to go before you start packing, that way you can throw it in your bag when you’re ready (Instead of waiting for the dryer to finish).
Don’t overpack or underpack. Okay, this one is tricky. I have for sure been on trips where I forget to pack socks but have 14 bathing suit options. When laying your clothes out, think more along the lines of outfits that mix and match, which will create options, rather than choices that don’t match or go with anything else. That’s not to say don’t pack your cloud blazer, because that is a must, just make sure you have an intentional outfit that it goes with.
Non-negotiables:
Shoes. Duh, you need shoes, however, the first time I went to Vegas, I was 4 and did not pack shoes. Whoopsie! Anyway, for the show you need COMFORTABLE SHOES. You hear me? You are going to walk a lot and no one needs to be getting blisters. Pack your favorite versatile tennis shoe and you’re good to go. Yes, 100% still pack the cute heels, but just save them for dinner later.
Cold Rollers. You had to know I was going there, right? Vegas is HOT, especially in the summer and nothing feels better than going back to your room to cold roll after being in the pool or walking around the exhibitor hall for 5 hours. The good news is, if you don’t have one, forgot one, or need a second one, we will be selling them at booth #801. Oh, and everything else from our brand will be there too, on sale.
Something comfy. Yes, it will be over 100+ degrees in Vegas, but in the hotels it is chilly! I don’t know about you but I love to put on a cute sweat set or something cozy after a long day. Plus you know you are going to be in your hotel room wanting to try out all of your new skincare. Something comfy is also great to travel in and when you want to run to grab a quick coffee you can just throw it on.
I hope these tips and non-negotiables help you to pack. At the end of the day, you’re in Vegas, you can probably buy whatever you want or forgot at home. Especially that new cleanser and sheet mask from whoever!
