How To Make The BEST Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

How To Make The BEST Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

Self-care comes in MANY forms and one of my favorite ways to practice self-care in my daily life is with this delicious anti-inflammatory smoothie. As estheticians, it’s easy to forget to take care of ourselves too. Reminder: self-care isn’t selfish! Take care of yourself and fill up your own cup before you can take care of others, literally. Trust me, it’s better that way… not just for your mental sanity but for everyone else’s.

A little quick backstory - I have been on a health and wellness journey recently and I’m learning how to heal myself through skincare, self-care, and FOOD. There was a point when I was so unwell and made myself so sick that I couldn’t eat anything. It was like my body was rejecting what I was doing… so I decided to embark on a journey where I’d heal myself with anti-inflammatory foods. And guess what? It’s been a game-changer ever since. It’s incredible how powerful the foods, products, and drinks we consume can be. I remember those days feeling so low on energy, feeling bloated, and dragging through my days… it was not fun, let me tell you.

You’d be surprised what a difference it can make in your day-to-day life by just having this smoothie every morning. If all of this so far sounds familiar to your current situation - I got you! Save this post and write this recipe down because it’s about to become your everyday staple.

Note: This is what works for me, I recommend taking what works and leaving what doesn’t. Also, if you don’t have all the ingredients mentioned below, don’t worry! Sometimes I don’t have everything in my fridge but it’s the effort that counts.

The Ultimate Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie Recipe

  • Handful of frozen pineapples

  • A few frozen strawberries (mainly just for color, let’s be honest, a pink drink is a lot more fun)

  • Handful of cucumbers

  • Handful of spinach or kale (Tip: I’m always flexible with my smoothies and use whatever I have in my fridge. I find this helps me be creative and also feel like I’m making use of what I have while doing something good for myself - so nothing goes to waste!)

  • Almond milk or water

  • A pinch of black pepper

  • A little turmeric

  • Chia seeds (Perfect source of protein and fiber)

Add everything to a blender and blend until well combined and smooth. Then pour it into your favorite glass and don't forget a cute straw!

BONUS: Feeling fancy? Add in some spirulina (this is extremely high in nutrients and has INCREDIBLE benefits for skin), bee pollen (has a lot of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It’s an amazing superfood), coconut water (filled with electrolytes), OR marine algae (also a great source of antioxidants and essential minerals).

There you have it, an EASY and DELICIOUS way to get in some greens while starting your day on the right foot. Let me know if you give this a try and whether you notice a difference in your day and overall mood!

xoxo
